Flying condom black with brass fittings! allys shrimp is also a good lure, devon minos in high water works well if fished properly.

Its all about trying different methods but if they wont take they wont take.

Red flying condom with brass blade or the aul swinford spoon or the rolla silver bullet (silver and black) 3 i wouldnt leave the house without.try every spinner you have.

I like little (size zero) mepps or size zero Vibrax Blue Fox spinners for both salmon and trout. I've had salmon of 10.3lbs and 9.6lbs this year on size zero spinners and also had a few smaller ones. Only had one decent seatrout this year but many good brownies, also on zeros or ones.

I cast them upstream and spin back down, fast enough to make the blade turn.

Im talking years ago now" a bloke i used to fish with set up a lure with a coke tin pull out thingy! he polished it and caught a salmon with it.

Ive seen salmon take a snap at a passing leaf, so you just dnt know whats gonna peak his interest. Sometimes i think they take out of annoyance. this thing has passed its nose so many times it thinks "im eating that fecking thing"

Im not 100% sure but dont think salmon feed when there in the river! they just snap at things that get close to there lye

My favorite way to fish them, had a nice grilse on a #1 a couple of weeks ago. mepps are a great bait, tried them vibrax but not anything like as good as a mepp.

no, youre right. they dont feed. Thats why i said i think they snap at it out of annoyance or instinct.

Rooster tails !! Trout and salmon can't help but nail rooster tails. Hell, most fish can't for that matter.
