weasle 1,119
Took my pup for his first look on the lamp the other day he came back lame so of to my vet today for some xrays. Behind the stifle joint is a tiny bone(fabella) thats cracked into 2 or 3 pieces. The vets looking into it ,maybe removing it as a option hes into hes greyhounds. As any one any experience of this injury? Gutted Edited August 4, 2012 by weasle Quote Link to post
Phil Lloyd 10,739
I had a similar thing to this with my young Greyhound/Whippet /Collie lurcher... At first, the injury was diagnosed as being a torn Cruciate Ligament .(bad fecking news) Then,.. the X Ray revealed a tiny 'detatched,..floating bone' next to the stifle joint ? After much deliberation, as regards the future success or failure,. of an Op... we decided to give the youngster complete rest ......for..a fair old time... Complete rest seemed to be the secret.... However, unless your Vet is real confident of a lasting victory,.maybe consider this option, as opposed to an operation Quote Link to post
weasle 1,119
Cheers. The vet aint the type to experiment,He understands the stress there body is under when running,so when he comes back to me next week he will be telling it like it is.This pup shines like a mirror he knows i had high hopes so got the feeling he didnt want to say to much till he knows more.Yours came good i presume..thanks again. Rain 232
My bitch did it when she was young did it in the November and wasn't let off till April . Never moved her for 6 weeks helped her outside in the garden to do her business and basically was her legs Then gentle lead walks round the village and a gradual increase in exercise. She didn't get let off te lead for 6 month! first time off nailed a bunny and she aint had a problem since, I think an operation should be last straw Edited August 4, 2012 by Rain Quote Link to post
