Country Joe 1,411
Although being into ferts for years, this is the first time I have introduced an unrelated Jill, with a Jill, as usual they started to fight, a lot of screeching and strong musk, but no blood etc, now into the second day, and no sign of things calming down, still fighting, have my vasectomy hob in other hutch, on his own,as the hutch with jills is larger would prefer to keep them together.just wondering how long it will take, if at all to settle down. skycat 6,174
Common sense should tell you that if you introduce a stranger into the hutch of a hormonal jill, she'll not be very happy about the situation. If your vasectomised hob has successfully taken your first jill out of season, her body now thinks it is pregnant, double the reason for her to be pretty pissed off with a stranger chucked into her territory. I'd separate the two jills a bit sharpish, because leaving them together is unfair on both: why not put the new jill in with the hob? Then try and integrate the three ferrets once the breeding season is over and they're a bit less touchy. 1 Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Thanks penny, have stuck the new Jill in with the snipped Hob, will try them together as you say in the Winter, when they are out of Season. Quote Link to post
theferreter 311
some jills will never except a new addition ive an old jill here shes fine with her daughter and grandaughter but if you put another ferret into the court all hell breaks loose and she draws blood aswell so all you can do is keep trying them and hopefully your resident jill comes round and settles down Quote Link to post
Guest norseman
had the same problem a few days ago with my old jill fighting with the new young hob, seperated them for a bit and after a bit of persistance its paid off, peace and harmony Quote Link to post
