chris1wg 24
Right sorry for the stupid question but I'm pretty new to shotguns, the chokes on my benelli don't say what they are just have like sort of * that symbol on them one on one two on the other and 3 on the third one?? Also I know it might be a stupid question what choke gives a tighter choke 1/4 aw full ?? Reason why I ask this my rizzini o/u don't have chokes so never used them before Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
Hi mate not a stupid question that's what this forum is for (or should be) * = full choke ** = improved modified *** = Modified **** = improved cylinder ***** = cylinder Basically the more stars the wider the choke you should also see on the chokes "not for steel shot" these will be the tighter chokes. Full is tighter than a 1/4 choke Quote Link to post
toby63 1,236
there also should be little notches at end of choke so that you dont need to keep takeing them out to see wots in. Quote Link to post
Hawkeye. 26
The tighter the choke , the further the lead goes before spreading. That's a simple analysis. All gun's have choke, just your old one was fixed choke and this is adjustable / multi choke. 1 * = full choke 2 * = 3/4 3 * = 1/2 4 * =1/4 The further the target , the tighter the choke need's to be to keep the pellet's closer together so that as many as possible hit the target. Shoot at a white tin sheet or similar with the different chokes from 25 yards so you can see the difference Quote Link to post
