davyt63 1,845
HI every one i met up with a few members today Chaz,PIL,Webby1 and had a good day out at the course! scored 49 with the HW97KT .22 sieve had to come back to mine to borrow my HW100 filling adapter and rifle, and i asked him for some JSB's he had well!!!!!! being a boring ole fart! i decided to weigh 60 of them, and here is what I found! out of 60 pellets, I found 10 @ 8.3 grain and 10 @ 8.6gr and 40 @ 8.5gr.majority shows here that they are 8.5 and not 8.4 which it says on the tin? I would imagine if you was looking for tight groups, with these pellets then you may ? not get as tight as if they were all the same weight? just thought i would share this boring bit of detail with you lot seems there is nothing interesting to watch on the freaking TV Edited July 1, 2012 by davyt63 1 Quote Link to post

I see what your saying Davey..it quite suprising and understandable. Iv shot 3 compatition's in the past & i enjoyed it alot, but i was going through a bad patch and quit. I shot at Tawd Vail twice and Rivington once & i did ok...scoring 45/50 in my first comp at Tawd...48/50 in my second comp but the thierd was low 40's...Never weighed my pellet's though or washed them, think im a tad worried about becoming an air gunning Geek Most the lads do all the wieghing & washing thing at the club & i think iv upset one or two lads when iv told them their talking out of there arses when they start banging on about how they weigh & wash, but im going to have to bite the bullet and give it ago Cant belive im asking this ...where can i get some decent scale's from.?? Atb Marty hi Marty Chaz & I where the same as hunters! but when you look into it deeper it makes sense! I shall do a video on it when is get the time! if its going to better the accuracy of your shooting then some thing is better than nothing?? process of elimination if you get my drift? especially as I use a spring rifle for competitions. ghillies 209
any one doubting the old scale it and tin it method, its simple, set up at 50 yards, shoot stright fronm the tin, 5-10 shots, then get some weighed and shoot the target next to it, if the difference isnt worth it to you..then dont weight them lol! ermmm dont exspect the old 70 plus shooting to ever how any more than the odd flukey hit though.(e.g. daystate heavies in my gun are brill to 60 yards max, past that fff fwtf!, the jsb heavies are hmmm 82 yards starting widen the group a little..weight them and try it) Quote Link to post
