scottish lurcher 185
ive been looking into making a lure for my two saluki lurchers to chase to keep them fit the factory one you get to buy uses a starting motor with a long converted shalf to fit in to a reel with the line that will get pulled in they all so fit a solanoide that pulses on and off this keeps it smooth when winding in but seen a hand cracked one they say works well its geared though pulleys if you fit small pulley to big pulley this allows fast take up of line on to drum so i thought by using bike gearing on to converted bike wheel same might work going to give it a try anybody tried this before Edited May 26, 2007 by scottish lurcher Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,628
I've been looking into making one and i'm using my mates at the mo, you don't need to convert the shaft on the starter motor if you get an old inertia one off a mini or something. Attach it to a stand and a reel, put a switch on and your away Quote Link to post

tyson 1
too much hassle for me , easier to give a steady walk behind a car up a quiet track for a couple of mile , and nowt beats a good gallop for em in a big field or beach somewhere Quote Link to post

SL the bigger the reel the faster it goes I think, this one of my mates there is no way a dog could catch it flat out so you have to keep it just in front of the dog. She started retrieving it too last time which saved me walking it back out . Quote Link to post
