2nd time out on my permission

Recommended Posts

So I went out for the 2nd time on the permission I gain because of the template on this forum :)

As I pulled up there were 2 woodies feeding. I got out the car andooened the boot to get the s200 and they didn't move. So I shot one through the neck and it went quickly. The other buggered off.

After a walk around and a rabbit that decided 2 head shots weren't enough. I don't know if it was spazzing around or just nerves but it just would stop even though I got it clean. Anyways I ended up with 7 bunnies.

The thing is they are pretty small. The land owner wants rid but I feel its a waste hitting the smaller ones. Should I just go for the biggies. Or smash em all in a pot? Or...just get on with the job and get rid of them for the land owner?.

Any suggestions?

Nobody likes to kill young rabbits but if the owner wants them gone as there causing damage they go ,they will be the first ones he see's anyway so thin them out a bit and if you cant eat them is there somebody near you with a hawk or ferrets that would take them ?.

Nice shooting with a superb little gun. I honestly doubt that even shooting every rabbit you see will eradicate them. Just when i think I've exhausted a warren, there is always one more. Never tell the landowner "right oh, job done". He will make you eat those words in my experience...so far. Keep photo records though and ask if he wants your surplus.
