Sunday June 17th

 

The Sporting Whippet Club Northern Ireland show at Dunsilly Kennells Co Antrim. A great day out for all the Whippet people. Racing and all the usual clsses and beautiful trophies for all the winners. Dont forget this Sunday coming. See you all there.

 

 

 

Sunday 24th June 12

 

Is the day for the North West Lurcher, Terrier, and Whippet Club Dog show, to be held at Barrontop Fun Farm, Donemana, Strabane, Co Tyrone BT82 OJD . Classes for Lurchers, Terriers, Whippets, Gun Dogs, and family pet show. Showing starts at approx 1.30pm . This is always a very enjoyable and well run show. So load up your Terriers, Lurchers, Whippets, Gun Dogs and family pets on Sunday 24th June and head for Barrontop Fun Farm, Donemana with the family for a great family day out.There will be pets on the farm for the children to see,plenty of goodies in the shop,burgers ,soup and slides and all the fun of the fair for the wee people. Barron Top Fun Farm lives up to its name,and George Mc Garrell its owner, makes sure everybody enjoys their day out at the Dog Show.

 

The organisers are also running a 2 man digging competition which is a qualifer of the All Ireland Digging competition at Birr Game Fair

 

This show is also a qualifer for the 32 County Champion of Champions.

 

Racing starts 11.30 sharp

 

Digging starts 12.30 sharp

 

The showing starts after the digging approx 1.30pm

      I Am Free

      To Love, to live, to hunt, to show my treasured Whippets, or play. 
      I found a peace at close of day.

      Perhaps my time seemed all to brief

      Lift up your hearts my friends and share with me
      God wanted me now,  
      He set me free.
      John, we will love you forever and you will be sadly missed by your loving family and all your Country Sporting Fraternity and in the show ring.

      Hi folks just an update on our show,
      This show is without doubt Irelands largest fundraising dog show, in only four years of bringing this show back to life, we are very proud to have raised £41000 for cancer related charities…
      This year we returned to Daisy lodge cancer fund for children, a local charity that does amazing work for kids and families affected by cancer….  We smashed last years amount of £14000 to reach an outstanding £17000….  
       
      We would like to thank every person who has supported our show, sponsorsed and donated gifts for an amazing raffle..   We had over £1500s worth of prizes for the raffle….  A very special thanks to Margaret Mcstay for advertising, The legend dog racing team of the McGrath Family, Dwtc for ongoing support, And  Burren working dog show team.. Thanks everyone and roll on 2026….   A show not to miss

      ****Great News for Our Dog Show Fraternity  in 2026 Re : 5 Nations/Mick The Miller/MasterMc Grath **** Carlow
      It has been decided by the Mc Grath Lurcher Racing Club and by kind permission of  Mr AJ Titterington of The Great Game Fairs of Ireland, that their Annual Dog Show event in Carlow 2026 will take place over a two day event. 
      *Saturday the 27th June 26 will be Showing only for the 5 Nations and All Ireland Showing.
      *Sunday 28th June will be for Racing Only for the Master Mc Grath / Mick the Miller and All Ireland Racing. 
      Please note, All dogs that have qualified for the 5 Nations/Mick The Miller and Master McGrath in 2025 will again automatically be qualified for 2026 event. If a dog that has won a show is already qualified in 1st or 2nd then the qualifier will go to 3rd place.
      This is just a heads up for now, full details and schedule will be issued at later date.
