PETEWINN 5
A mark 1 box regardless of whether it is ferret or terrier will pick up all variants of mark 1 collars (standard, micro, ferret, terrier). It will also pick up a mark 3 collar to around 10 feet. Quote Link to post
Madcowz 0
I was going to ask a similar question earlier, but will add to this thread. Can you confirm that it is the collar (transmitter) that is the deciding factor to its range, not the box (receiver) so that a 15ft collar would work with an 8ft box (as they are sold on Ebay) and be detectable at 15ft? So to shorten that sentance... the Mk1 box can pick up both 8ft or 15ft collars at their respective ranges. My next question... I see a lot of Mk1 boxes sold on Ebay as Mk2. When I question the seller they say that the depth wheel has Mk2 on it. Was there are Mk1 Phase II finder? Why are there so many different looking Mk1's, ok they only vary in the lettering and pictures of ferrets, they are all still grey boxes. thanks, /Mad Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
madcowz/ an 8ft and 15ft reciever box are exactly the same, except the number markings. so if you use a 15ft box with an 8ft collar. dont take rely on the depth being spot on Quote Link to post
Madcowz 0
Ah, I hadn't thought of that! Could have been a bit of an accident if I had gone down that route. Any ideas as to the Mk2 marking on the wheel of the Mk1? thanks, /Mad Quote Link to post
PETEWINN 5
There are eight variants of the mark 1 grey box finders. You need to look on the back of the circuit board to find out which one you have. On the dial you will find a sticker that says either nothing, MK2 or MK3. This depends upon the type of potentiometer that the wheel turns. The distance is controlled by the collar. If using a 15ft collar with an 8ft box just double up the distance to give a rough guide. Cracking info, thanks for that. Always like to know the small details. /Mad Quote Link to post
