Came across an article about rough coated greyhounds or scots greyhound

Is there such a thing ?

Never seen a pure grey with rough coat

I think its goes way back, there were several 'types' of grey.

I put a post up a while back with the pedigrees of my Deer/Grey, and back in the 1800's there was "bull blooded Greyhound" and "rough Scottish type Greyhound" on her Greyhound dam's side. On her Deerhound sires side. in the 1950's Greyhound was added to the Ardkinglass Deerhounds.

many years ago (1800s) greys, deers, rough coated greys and sighthoundy lurchers were all just known as varieties of greyhound. dogs recorded in the greyhound studbook were gradually bred to be smooth coated but genetically all very similar.
