secretagentmole 1,701
Yesterday evening I decided to go and have a lurk under the trailer again, but idiot after uploading photos last time left camera at home! Anyways under the trailer comfortably in position (ie without a wheel rut digging into my ribs), and waited. A flurry of wings announced another visitor. Who sat looking at the barrel of the HW 30 metres away as if it was some sort of perch (shows how stupid these pigeons are, the river is a mile away). To dispel this notion I decided to let it have a Crosman Premier to look at and sent one to it at 595 feet per second, thinking "Catch that you swine..." It did and rolled over in appreciation. Seeing as there was no movement, I remained in position and dug the mobile out, in times like this it is best to have something to do whilst youw ait for more to drop in, I find that a mobile with muted sound with a few games on it passes the time, after annihilating a few more annelids another landed. This was having a waddle (possibly called Chris), 20 metres away, I let it have one in the side of the noggin. Straight into a blasted stagnant puddle! Oh flip! Then two pie fillers came over. Ignored the straw and landed in the paddock across the ditch, 65 metres awat. Making like a combat mole I crawled under the trailer till I got to the rear impact bar, this put me directly behind 2 straw bales. I crouched and walked to the bales. Making like an American cop I checked the rifle was loaded, then ranged the shot with the laser. 32 metres. I gave careful aim and thwack, straight over on it's side. It's mate took one look and tried to make like a Harrier jump jet. It got away but I had 2 ferals and 1 pie filler to the tally. I then went to the access track to wait for collection. A few kits were at play, so I shot one at 35 metres. Nice head shot, no fuss. Then I got the shot I had been waiting for. There has been one particular kit that seems to share a psychic link to me. Every time I was near where it emerges from the warren all I could see was it turning round and the white flash of tail down the burrow. But it was out there, in the middle munching happily. Well until another Crosman pellet emerged into daylight. The kits were dropped with the ferals at the falconer, Percy Pigeon Pie Filler was prepared at home... Quote Link to post
