I'm now 20 and have decided it's time to get out of dead end jobs and look for a 'career'! I'm an outgoing person and want to choose something that suits me..

I started an Aboriculture Diploma but left it to join the army which didn't go to plan anyway which was a waste. I did enjoy it and it was something that I could have set up my own buisness in and hopefully made an alright living out of it :)

When I left school I thought about going to College and studying Countryside Management but never ended up doing it. Things like videoing wildlife etc interest me, I often watch people on tv abroad with Bears/Lios etc and think that's something I'd LOVE to do but just how realistic is this?

Anybody gone down this route or any other 'exciting' job that could give suggestions or advice? I know It'll be a case of starting at the bottom but I think It's about time I started..

Butch

I would have thought that you would have to go to collage and study filming or film making or some such thing and then specialise in wildlife filming ... What happened with the army ??? ...........

That's what I'm thinking mate! ;) Just hard knowing where to start..

you obviously have internet access, use your brain...

there is such thing as a telephone directory too, ring some colleges up also, go to the job centre for advise or the citizens advice bureau.

it wont just land in your lap mate.

as previously said, at 20, get a job as a club rep abroad, drink, dance, shag(LOTS) for a couple of years then get a good job as im sure i speak from a few of us that didnt and are now settled down :cray:

I'm looking at a level 3 media course at the local college, something I could do then specialise in wildlife filming and maybe eventually film some big stuff abroad?

i fancied filming porn, watched enough so think i have what i takes.

not a truer word. learn by mistakes and sadly not some of the regrets i have from years past.

my kids have been "TOLD!", i mean advised to work hard at school and then college..

remember the same words from my parents but ignored their wise words as we ALL did..

Wished i'd done that now...........cant turn the clock back now though. I'd do exactly as you said and enjoy it. Come home and hopefully have a few quid in my pocket, attend a college and get some kind of trade like Plumber, Joiner or Mechanic. Work hard for a few years and then start my own business and reap the rewards.....
