Tx200 Trigger problem?

Recommended Posts

Had my tx for around 6 weeks now, the pervious owner said he had adjusted the trigger, and today it seemed to play up in the fact that i took the safety off and took up the first stage and then nothing, no feel in the trigger like it had gone limp and the saftey automaticaly re applied? this happend twice? and have not risked it anymore, i will look into it tomorow dose it just need a proper trigger tune and the bolts re loctite in, or is there a diff reason for this happening, till now it has been fine, could the bolts be loosening off after alot of use these past weeks?

Many Thanks Ben.

Not ever had that problem on my tx or pcp, I would imagine the last owner has adjusted it to much and something isn't catching properly, take a screwdriver to it and adjust back a bit and see what happens.

hi Ben

I own a TX and have had it a part a few times, also done a trigger polish to so I know a little about it,but I am no expert.

chances are you just need to adjust the trigger (grubs screws) they may have come loose?

worst case scenario is the top sear is worn/broken,hence the piston guide not engaging?

here is a few guides on how it all works and it may help you identify the problem ?

3 question marks for a reason, I am no expert!

have a look here

TX200 trigger diagram

TX200 cocking action

pay attention to this cycle you can clearly see the piston engage with the top sear, hence activating the safety at the rear of the sear,so this will rule out broken sear.

then look closer! there are 3 possibles that could be wrong?(another ?) ;)

the spring could be worn/slack hence not engaging, the load grub screw could be loose,or the first stage grub screw could be loose.

keep replaying it over & over,it will seem clearer the problems you may have?

in this diagram you can clearly see the grub screws doing there part,so check yours out!

Hi thanks for the info it was helpfull and your an expert compared to me haha, i think you are right in that the triger grub screws have worked loose over time, he has obviously broke the loctite seal and then he wound them out and now they have wound out too far!, so i can adjust them and wind them in abit or in the long run will it be easier to wind them right out and re loctite them?

Thanks for your help Ben.

hi Ben

you will need to adjust them, and fire it as well to get the feel of the trigger, please!! DO NOT dry fire your air rifle.

adjust a quarter a turn each time, load and fire into safe back stop! i will check my TX later and let you know how far mine are in/out,this may help you achieve a nice smooth trigger.once you have them set as you like, then loctite them.this will prevent the problem arising again

PS. your not far from me,if you want me to take a look at it i can.i am in swindon

Thanks for the offer, i have hopefully sorted it ot now, it seems much more reponsive and a better second stage, but i think t was the load grub screw causing the problem, so fingers crossed.

Thanks again.

hope the above helped and glad you have it sorted!
