No Lab........all the same brood...they were all with the same hen, a few bright ones like I am holding and the rest were the colour of the top picture one......that top one was other side of fence and I had to zoom in. Lab......I tend to agree with you...... that was my first thought, they were a lot smaller than the the light coloured ones, they had gone too far over the fence by the time i had got there. They were all with the hen pheasant without a doubt.......could a red-leg and pheasant laid in the same nest I wonder? Lab.....the majority of the brood were red legs then in that case.......as there were not many pheasant chicks like the one i am holding........i would say a good 8 or 9...were red legs then....how facinating.
