yea.. what Millet said.. sit and watch them for a bit when they sick of looking at you see what they do.. if one starts being scared/annoyed youll see the tail lift up and you will instantly smell a change in smell stregnth... humms!

That is normal..my 2 jills are sisters and one of them is mothering the other one.. just the other ones might not like it especially if they are young... hence the smell.. as long as theres no broken skin they will be ok i expect :)

just keep an eye on it..

I'm not disputing the above posts but there may be one other alternative I can think of.... Due to the fact that you described the smell being like "wee" rather than "musty" take a look at the jills undercarriage ....when there in full season there generally not as clean., the fur around the legs & underbelly often becomes urine stained as well as the area surrounding the vulva, this is just an alternative reply for you to consider but the real reason should be more obvious depending on wether or not the smell you describe is permanent or temporary......atb

Usually if a ferret releases its anal glands the smell disappears very quickly, as in within a few minutes...and it certainly doesn't smell like wee. It could be the kits are disorientated in the new home and are peeing in the bedding, which will sort in time. Tbh, the jill shouldn't really smell even if she is in season, so if she does smell odd, the sooner she sees a vet the better.

You said you noticed the smell when the ferts were all sleeping together, if they are curled up with each other that shows they are all getting along. Jills will drag the kits about, it's her way of mothering them and also sorting the pecking order so the kits understand she's boss.

If your jill is giving off a smell like off yogurt/milk, get her up to a vet sharpish.
