robwelsh 354
Si,my mate uses crosman magnums, before and after.jb had his way with it..as for shot count..do you ever go out and shoot, let's say 40things at once? Even if you could, you probably wouldn't..unless you have to do a clearance of ferals..or an abundance of rabbits to take care of..even then you get to 10 bunnies there's a fair bit of weight to haul about LOL big shot count = lazy man's choice lol Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
@Rob if you check zero, have to adjust zero, check zero again, that is 15 shots (allowing for group of 5 testing). If you are camping out for a weekend and have your rifle with you then you want at least 40 shots! I use Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums in my .22 HW, I have also used them in a BSA Super 10, accurate in both. As can be seen! Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
Answer to all problems mole..pump LOL how many people actually got massive permissions to smash the numbers down..most leave it for another day rather than have no sport for anotherday. People say taking silencer on and off.and shrouds on and off changes poi..I don't get how they say this, even with a few bumps..mine has always held its zero..so never any need to adjust in my case. When iv taken shroud and silencer off and on..its exactly the same.. Not shooting it with nothing on it..then shooting it with mod etc on, just general fiddling LOL Edited May 15, 2012 by robwelsh Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Some of us have never ending permissions. I have a permission surrounded on one side by a farm which has people using shotguns on it, but they only go for pigeons and pheasants, don't bother with rabbits, along the back is a river, so rabbits will move in along that, on the other side is a farm, once again, shotgunned, rabbits ignored, they come in on that side as well. If I had better field craft I would be able to shoot a lot more Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
well the .22 hw100 has been away for a week now, having the stock oiled and having a wrap put on the cylinder ans silencer. but i starting to get withdrawl symptoms, cant even have a plink in the garden. Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
well i went and picked my hw100 up today, after having the stock stripped and all the dinks and scratches taken out, and the cylinder and the silencer wrapped. it looks great. a massive improvement from when i first got it. it was a rough old dog. cant wait to get out on sunday with it. had some bad news today though, injured my knee a few yrs ago. turns out id snapped my cruciate ligament. been in pain for 10 yrs, kept going back to my gp, went for nhs physio, didnt do any good. went to see a private physio today and he told me the score. the snapped ligament will have been absorbed back into the body, because it wasnt doing anything just hanging about within the joint. so now they cant reattach it. they will have to take some tendon fron elswhere in the leg, and fasten that in place inside the knee. at least 6 weeks off work, then light duties for 6 months. should be fun considering im a ground worker..
