lasers range finder

You look through the range finder and take the shot afterwards unless your minted and buy the bushnel scope with internal range finder but costs more than most air guns

Once zeroed though will only be accurate at the set zero

someone said that you can use them as range finders by sighting them in at a set range

they may mean at a slight angle to the line of sight through the scope. underneath the barrel or above the scope. pointing up or down.

as the laser appears higher or lower than centre of the scope it should show you the range changing. its a bit of a faff and much easier to use a range finder for accurate ranging. it can help at night with nv if you use a nv laser.
