borderboy 80
I have been handling my ferrets a little more often recently - spending some time sat in the shed with each one trying to get them to stop wriggling and scratching my hands ... I was sat on the floor with the ferret sniffing and nosing around with me scooping him up stroking him then putting him back down it was all going well untill i sat him on my lap and let him sniff my hands and he decided "bite" me ... i say bite he just put his teeth on my palm, he then went onto to do it twice more!... i wasnt sure whether to punish him or whether he was just trying to start a game?... what should i have done? he has done it a couple of times before but i never really thought much of it... danielt 1
He's either playing or being nasty, if being the latter he woudl would have let you know, but taking a good bite. A litle tap on the nose with 1 or 2 fingers to warm him will do the job. Saying that my friends jill came up to me and lunged forward teath showing grabbed hold of my finger and proceeded to pull my finger into her nest. It wasnt nasty or a hard bite it was soft.
