Just tried to PM you mate but inbox full.

Ive just seen a post you said about having a saluki cross doing things on his own terms.

I had one who died lamping at 18 months old and he was an absolute c**t. I just could not bond with him at all.

He had an aggressive streak. He was ignorant. Stubborn. I broke him to stock from 12 weeks of age but then one day he started chasing stock at 14 months of age. Not to kill, just rounding up sheep etc.

He would retrieve 5/5 one day and the next day catch a rabbit, take it into a bush and start eating it. Then get nasty when I went to take it off him.

He was my first lurcher and put me off working dogs for a while. However, I've dexided to try again and I'm getting a whippet Bitch in August.

Hopefully I can make a better job this time round and it wasn't just me being a bad dog owner and was partly the dog. He was difficult to say the least!

Im finding him a learning curve to say the least but ive worked hard at building a bond with him, ive started obedience training with him hes smart but stubborn

hes 10 x harder to rear than any other pup ive had... Never seen a pup so damned independant, was at my nerves end yesterday... Im gonna be grey by time hes ready to work

just from my observations you will get more sence ,if you fag the pup out with play ,then spend time training , your banging high protean food into a pup its bouncing off the walls tire them out and then spend a bit of time training good luck

I am finding out over the years, that high protein completes, drive pups mad....and seems to go threw working dogs quick, not putting any back or weight on them.

21 to 24 % protein, seems to work for me, from a good quality brand, along with a few lamb breasts, hearts ect now and them.
