open season 21 Posted April 21, 2012 Report Share Posted April 21, 2012 Hi guys i was thinking of custom painting my Brocock Hunter ready for the winter bit of a summer project really. It has a black abs stock and i wanted to camo it in winter colours. i wanted to know if you can paint straight onto the stock or does it have to be pre treated first. if i paint it can i use acrilic paint or doeas it have to be something different. will i have to then protect the paint with a laquer.or will this damage the stock cheers guys Regards openseason Quote Link to post
PLEDGEY 496 Posted April 21, 2012 Report Share Posted April 21, 2012 If you go on to YOUTUBE and do a search for ' camo stock painting DPM style part 1' there is a vid by a bloke called Carbonrocket. He does a couple of spray jobs on guns, the S410 looks well smart. The stocks he does are wood but he might know if you can spray a synthetic stock. Quote Link to post
BenjaminCadd 109 Posted April 22, 2012 Report Share Posted April 22, 2012 Yes, i have done one of my old rifles to smarten it up i used: Primer, Paint and then Laquer, i found little and many coats was best and the final coats of paint to go over it with wet and dry made it realy smooth, also found halfords was the best to use!.
