stubby 175 Posted May 12, 2007 Report Share Posted May 12, 2007 you'll know when she's in heat as her vulva will swell and protude outwards, just pick her up, lift tail and LOOK jill's dont atomatically die if not mated, its just a swollen vulva so near to the floor is a good place for infection to enter, therefore if you have no hob to use, just make sure you keep her cage/court 100% clean Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709 Posted May 12, 2007 Report Share Posted May 12, 2007 Ferrets come in to season when theres roughly 18 hours daylight, but they seem to be coming in earlier than the traditional spring time , my two had visable balls late last year & are still togeher now although there clearly in season as they smell lovely Your Jill (assumeyou have a jill) wont come out of season untill the nights start to draw in , so to reduce the swelling before then she would either have tobe mated,jill jabbed or run with a V hob,or speyed.
