Stabs 3 Posted July 18, 2005 Report Share Posted July 18, 2005 I've a very old book at home and that states that the retriever was the most commonly crossed breed in the production of the lurcher around the East Anglia area.....don't know how true that is. That's a great photo Kiwi. A mate of mine in Qld raves about the lab crosses. He used pure ones in the forces and rates the cross very highly. Quote Link to post
kiwi 4 Posted July 18, 2005 Report Share Posted July 18, 2005 yeah i'm a great fan of the old lab in pigdogs great nose and love of work even the purebreds make good pigdogs, although a little bit slow due to thier love of food. we have some of the older lines of lab over here that are alot bigger than the pet/show stuff as well as some really good working curly coated retrievers.
