robwelsh 354
What's your thoughts on this Bipods? It pans etc but can you tilt to level crosshairs ? Thanks Quote Link to post
shepp 2,285
Using a PCP you are taking half the skill out of shooting, stick it on a bipod and the only skill left is the stalking, trajectory and windage. Saying that if it means humane dispatch of animals with minimal practice then who am I to criticise. Quote Link to post

porkycrook 466
Hello Rob, I can only speak about what i use and that is home-made sticks. My sticks are made from 6' tall garden sticks (green ones from most garden centres), I have to cut off a couple of inches as to suit my height. I then drill a hole about 6"down from top for a pivot bolt i use a 1/4" bolt. On the bolt i have put a plain washer before pushing the bolt through the cain, i then push the bolt through the first pole then a plain washer followed by a plain nut, then another plain washer followed by the other cane then the fourth plain washer and now a nyloc nut. On the part of the cain that the gun will sit, i have padded out. I use an old bandage that i had laying about, i wrap the ends as many times as i wish enough to make a firm base to shoot from. I the wrap the bandage in electicians insulating tape, firstly to make it water proof but it also dulls down the sticks. Building my sticks this way i find the bandage allows enough padding and support, and the insulating tape give enough grip as to allow the gun to be moved around but then gripped at the position you want. Hope this little write-up is plain enough for you, because i tend to ramble a bit. ATVB Roger Quote Link to post

I know what your saying ..but the land I shoot ,the rabbits are fairly hard work..you can get about 45yrds if your lucky..its very hilly and bushes all around..so with everything combined together I really want the confidence shooting further ranges off a bipod ..before doing it free hand etc the land is as awekward as they come ..judging distance with where the pellet will land up or down steep bankings is quite a pain..just in need of a confidence boost mate at further distances..
