StevoSmith 147
Cracking bit of kit mate....if price stays same as Ant says its a blessing as most people cannot afford full on gen 2 prices.....also the distance to church as shown was well over most peoples range with sub 12flbs rifle As per filter i was wondering abour the exact prices?......you say they range from £4 to £8 but in your eye as experianced marksman which did you find better for unit?......my judgement is of these filter will be down to price and performance After a 3rd view ov vid i would say the 850 is by far the best filter for most situation......it seems to give the least light let through but enough light spottage for all night time quarry Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
With a Handycam the 720 is by far the best Steve and gives the best picture. With the add on as its so good at picking up light you could happily shoot with the 940, 850, 760 or 720. If you type in ir camera filters on EBay you get 51mm filters at all the different nm rating for £4 each mate. With a add on id get a 940 and a 720 for ratting and long range rabbits. With a camcorder Id just get a 720 i think pal. Im off out testing the filters and laser lamp more tomorrow night on the bunnies so ill let you know more then mate. Si. 1 Quote Link to post
StevoSmith 147
Do a stint with the 850 mate on the bunnies and upload vid the do same for other filters.....i would say the 850 is bright enough but would cause less disturbance than other filters......the 940 in my eyes would be to dark on long range targets and the 720 to bright for close quarters....my opinion only mate but thats what i reakon.....i dont film myself mate but i think the 850 oversall not sure what other nv guys would think but in my eyes the 850 all the way.....cracking post mate very thourough Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Yes I think I agree with you there Steve . With the add on the 850 is a good choice. What I did say to Anthoni is this: I am a very experienced lamper and usually use a red filtered Deben lamp and dimmer, and what you get thrown out from the 720 nm filter with his lamp is less than i actually get from my Deben lamp and red filter when its turned down for me to take the shot so I don't really see it as a major problem, but if you want to be more sneaky then the 850 is the best choice like you say buddy. Its all trial and error really mate and im just trying to help lads out and also find a good combo for myself for night time shooting. Si. Edited March 30, 2012 by zini Quote Link to post

Law of averages mate the 720 is to bright and the 940 is to dark thats my guessing....would be good to see results in field......looking forward to more input and video results Si Quote Link to post
