StevoSmith 147
Picking up a Webley Tempest on tuesday from a friend down the road from me...it is well looked after and has only had about 300 or so pellets through it. He has had it from new since 2005 i think and i have had a few goes of it on his land and found the open sites something i think i will not get used to....i was wondering is it possible to get a tele site for it? and if so from where?...also he says it shoots better with 5.6mm pellets but trying to find some is becomming a nightmare lol and help will be appriciated Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Yes you can buy long eye relief telescopic pistol sights I would advise that you stick to no more than one to two magnification though. Open sights on a pistol though is the way to go IMHO, once you've got the hang of it, it's more natural than a using a scope. Tony Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Oh Steve, Just reread your post, the Tempest is non-scopable without extensive and very costly modification. If you do decide to have that kind of work done I know a bespoke gunsmith specialising in pistols Tony Quote Link to post
StevoSmith 147
Thanks Tony for responce.....on the note of the extensive mods for it to hold a scope what sort of prices are we talking?.....I say this as im getting this pistol for £25 with case and pellets so have a little extra cash for said mods Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I'd offer you double that just for the pleasure of owning a childhood pistol again As for the work, you would be looking at not much change if any for a something upwards of £150 maybe more. Tony Quote Link to post
StevoSmith 147
Ouch that much?........Will spend some time practicing with open site's for few weeks till i can afford the mods methinks......your the second person today who is offering me more for pistol than im paying....i take it they are great little pistols as the other guy was offering me £90 and said they are well made little target pistols and only real prob was something to do with trigger which can easyily be solved Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
You would probably get a lot more than the £90 if I'm honest I was just trying my luck I'd not offer more but only cuz I don't have the money to Once you get the hang of open sights, you will see why pistol shooting is such fun Tony Quote Link to post
Cleanspade 3,324
i just got one for a tenner . i tried it five minutes ago and i had to cock it twice to get the pellet to fall out of the barrell  . first decent swap gets it. would be a good project for someone Quote Link to post
