New budget gun

Hi all, sorry about going through the wholem 'newbie' stage of air rifles, but we all started somewhere, didn't we? I've used air rifles a bit at my friend's house, and have used .22 rimfires before, but I'd love to get into using an air rifle for the odd pigeon or rabbit. I'm fairly clear with the concepts with an air rifle, scope, mounts etc. I see a lot of rifles I like the look of, but they simply aren't in my budget. I'm looking for a decent air rifle, possibly with a scope, going for just under £200. Any ideas welcome.

Welcome. I am on the lookout for similar with an identical budget. I have been in a few shops today for a look following suggestions on various forums. I tried a Stoeger X20, Hatsan 55 & SMK 19 which are all available with scope/bag and change from £200. I came away empty handed as I felt the quality was poor despite the budget pricing. I have now decided to turn to the used market and have come across a BSA Lightning/scope for around £175 so I expect used is the way to go. I hope I don't put you off if you had any of those mentioned in mind. Gunstar is a good site for used airguns.
