ive had a slow day today so i decided to make a start on a catty for my lad its out of yew with heavy dust mask elastic :laugh: its not staying on but it will be ok for him to start hes only 9 ive got a bit of tidying up to do on it yet and get it oiled just wanna know what you pros think

That's a decent shape, a nice wide and deep fork. Let him move up the elastic as he gains accuracy. A good tip is chained elastic bands, they're easy to make stronger or weaker and readily available. It wouldn't matter whether it's made from gold or old toilet roll tubes, it's his first catty and made by his dad, it'll be priceless to him.
