KDR 14
I was talking with the farmer who i shoot pigeons for and he was telling me of a lad he had allowed to come on the land who is lamping rabbits with a hawk... Just wondered if anybody else does this or has heard of it...? Apparently the lad does really well, i just thought it would be against all the natural instincts of the bird. Quote Link to post
CityHunter.uK 12
Harris hawk are very adaptable and take to lamping quite well heard of people lamping pigeons with goshawks although that seems a waste as gos do so well in daylight. But you just use a light to get the hawk back to your fist as it sees the fist and food and returns. I must admit I used a dog collar flashing led light on my hawks leg when I tried it so that i could find the hawk if it went awol and sat up was quite funny as it flashed red and blue the bird looked like a police car flying in the dark. When you do lamp a rabbit its is best to keep the light on it unitl you get there or the bird sometimes lets go of the rabbit Quote Link to post
