blackandgreen 84
Got given a BSA Lightning XL by a friend who has invested in a PCP. Took it out to my permission today, bagged two woodies at 30 yards and 3 rats at approx 20 yards. Ok, it has none of the 'extras' of the top springers, and it is noisy compared to a PCP. However, I am pretty impressed with the gun, it does what it says on the tin Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
@davy.. iv'e heard a few stories of new weihrauch springers being underpowered recently, its same with my lightning xl at the min its 2 months old and only doing 10.5 ft lbs with air arms diabolo. but i have been very succesful with it at close range. i stopped going shooting for about 2-3 years so im just getting back into it, although now im a better shot than i was before. iv'e had loads of guns in the past all in .22 s410k... s200... hw99s (x2)... hw97k standard wood not thumbhole,... (x3) bsa supersports and (2) old model bsa lightnings.. so as you can see having had only 2 pre charged rifles i learnt with the springers and i am a pretty good shot. hope if i get a 97k synth then it will be one of the 'good' ones doin at least 11ft lb. also it was a toss up between the s410k n the hw97k for 'best gun' and to be honest id prefer the 97 amazing gun, obviously pre charge has all the advantages but good old springers are just as good in the right hands... or left hands in my case Quote Link to post
