Eating Problems

Recommended Posts

Hi all, and thanks in advance for any advice. Ive had my rescue ferret for just over two weeks now and in that time she's had her jill jab and is due to be spayed on tuesday. My problem is, she hardly eats anything!! I continued to make sure she had a small amount of what the girl who had her before me gave her (Dried cat complete  She wont touch it though :icon_eek: ) but Im trying to get her onto proper ferret food. Ive tried her with day old chicks, large and small mice but she only eats what the cat catches and I cant rely on her to feed my ferret  She has and egg once a week and eats that no problem and she'll drink milk but I cant just let her have that as her diet :hmm: So where do I go from here? im getting a bit worried now.

I would say just keep feeding Mince and Meat, At the end of the day its going to eat when its hungry enough :thumbs-up:

Sounds abit harsh but one of my new Jills wouldnt touch meat, after 2 days without food shes fine, wolfs it down like the other.

just keep feeding her meat for now, mince and chicken and the odd egg, don't be putting in too much as she'll hoard what she doesn't eat and it will quickly go off.as has been said she will eat when she's hungry, plenty of fresh water rather than the milk imo.keep an eye on her and stop fretting so much
