gnasher16 31,602 Posted March 2, 2012 Report Share Posted March 2, 2012 Im off following the Hammers against Cardiff sunday i just wondered if anyone knew the layout of Cardiff city centre and any quiet out the way pubs where a few low key cockneys might be able to watch the Leeds/Southampton game tomorrow without getting mullered My mrs booked a hotel for us smack bang in the middle of the city centre thinking they played at the Millenium stadium .....so any sporty type pubs round there that anyone knows of ?....quieter the better !... It has an upstairs where you 'English' can "keep out the road"................. ps.....If johnnyboy comes on saying he'll meet you for a pint just say "ok" and ignore him, he wont turn up....... GrCh 856 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Share Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) I remember when about 6 of us went to watch wednesday against cardiff at the old ninian park after match we went to the digs to pick something up and had to do the "canton run" lol mad as f**k knew we wednesday straight away (we were better dressed). up there with Leeds and Millwall mad times but good times miss them days. socks 32,253 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Share Posted March 3, 2012 If you want a nice quiet pint with no hassle get yourself down the bay mate only 10 mins from the city centre a little more up market with plenty of pubs for a chilled few pints ... I you don't fancy that walkabouts is a very good sporty pub and as has been said you have oneils or another decent pub is the goat major ... gnasher16 31,602 Posted March 4, 2012 Author Report Share Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) Wish id seen this before we went !!......ended up in about 6 different pubs ( and i dont even drink ) we settled on some gaff called Dempseys in the end right opposite the castle.......thinking id get in with some of the locals we went in some mad sounding place Cwyb bach something or other earlier in the day.... it was full of jocks !! Anyway very enjoyable weekend,nice friendly folk....certainly a much busier place than i remember it years ago...but very nice all the same The downside was having to watch the Hammers.....we won 2 nil but its none too pleasant to watch under fat sam.
