Nite - Hunter IR400 SB update and look at a new IR unit

Recommended Posts

Hi lads,

I’ve been up to Nite – Hunters premises today to discuss last nights rabbiting foray with him and talk about the Digi Add On and IR400 SB.

As I wanted to keep everything correct and truthful, here is what we discussed.

The Digi Add On is so far better than I ever expected and I have not found a negative point with it as of yet but last night the IR400 SB went dull after about 2 hours with the 12 volt battery and I thought it was flat.

This morning after a charge I still had the same problem with a full battery. I contacted Anthoni and we found out the 12 volt system seems to burn out the laser diode if left on too long with the on off switch, so a press switch would be better if using a 12 volt battery and not option for the on / off switch is a good option.

Also only illuminate for no more than 30 seconds per time with the 12 volt system

With the 6 volt battery the diode is fine and my IR300 is still working a treat. I can leave the laser on for a minute at a time with no damage to the laser so I do advise the 6 volt system more than the 12 volt system at this moment in time.

I believe Anthoni is now looking at only using the 6 volt version with the dimmer.

Here is another system that Anthoni made up for me today to fit to my HW100 S.

It’s an older design that he designed years ago but now is getting an update to the year 2012 (more on this to follow soon).

It’s a 6 volt IR300 with a dimmer switch fitted (proper cool) and a laser lamp all in one.

The laser lamp will give you a better picture when recording your footage so I’m led to believe out to around 60 to 70 yards so ideal for ratting and air rifle rabbiting. Bright and very clear.

The lamp isn’t connected to the dimmer, just the laser.

The lamp is soon to get a upgrade with some new technology that should take it out to up to 150 yards very clear and very bright so no need for the laser.

I guess a dimmer will then be fitted to the lamp unit.

The laser is good with the Digi Add On to much longer ranges. Ill test it tonight to get a better range to tell you.

Si
