Hi I have a pup bitch beddlington whippet x collie grey over a beddlington grey x collie grey dam was 21" shire 27" the pups around 5 month old and 17 tts is this small will she make 21" tts? Thanks

possible , its a bit of a hit or a miss with lurchers so many x in them i wouldnt think she will be that far away from 21 tts

thanks mate is there any pattern to a dogs growth rate or can some dogs grow slower than others? is there any chance she could just make 18 / 19" would this effect her working ability i have her as a ferreting/ rabbiting dog?

no set pattern just they grow most before 6 months after that age its just a couple of inches although there is always the exception to the rule , there is some cracking 17 -18 tts rabbiting dogs out there i wouldnt worry too much about its height , when its old enough just get it out and show it plenty work and im sure it will turn out fine

Bitches tend to be smaller than dogs out of the same litter..and with the smaller dog's they seem to reach there full size earlier than your bigger crosses..i had a beddy grey x collie grey many moon's ago and it hit it's full height by 8mth old which was 21"..does she have much knuckle left to grow out on the front wrist that is usualy a rough indication of how much growing she has left in her..

i think your abit optimistic expecting or wanting should i say another 4 inch from a pup of 5mth's but ye never know with lurcher's, i would be looking more at the 19inch mark

Yeah thanks for your replys lads I will get a pic of her front paws tonight I don't think she has much left in her was hoping for 21"but hopefully she will do the work still
