15 ft MK1 box with 8ft collar

I know these two above work together, but i was wondering if the box just picks the collar up to 8 ft then stops or does the depth on the box change

it will only work to 8 foot with a 8 foot collar the 15 foot collar is larger

the depth changes,,, all mrk 1 ferret boxes are 15 foot in reality,,its just the stiker on the depth gauge, and the the 15 foot collar.

 

your 8 foot collar will register 15 foot on your 15 foot box,,,, but it will only be 8 foot...deep... is this clear to you

Its ages since i tried messing around with the combinations, did the 15 foot box knock slower with the 8 foot collar? or was it the other way round? Also i'm sure my MK1 box picked Andy 410's mk 3 collars up when i was out with him, but it knocked slower with that combo i think.

THE mk1 box does pic the mk3 collar up and it does sound difrent to the mk1 collar

no im still confused, so i dont just use the 15ft box up to 8 foot

why dont you just turn it on , and you will see what i mean..

 

you see the 15 foot collar has two baterries and is slightly bigger , so it doubles the depth...... all mrk 1 boxes are the same its just the sticker on the dial.

 

your 8foot collar...will only register up to 8 foot,,,,,but your dial will be turned to its furthest point ,,, and will read 15 foot ,, but it will only be 8 foot.

 

stand on somthing and the box will stop registering a click, after 8 foot,,,, your COLLAR will never read deeper....

 

now if you get a 15 foot collar,,, it will be picked up by your box in the normal way .

 

 

 

another way to look at it is like this....................lets say you have a 8 foot locator and collar....... one day you mate comes out with you and he has, a 15 foot collar ...................that 8 foot box,, when the dial is turned to 8 foot,,, will read the 15 foot collar at 15 foot.

 

the grey boxes are exactly the same ,,,, its just the sticker on the dial .. still confused

if youre using an 8foot collar with a 15 foot box you need to more or less half what it says on the dial.and if youre using a15foot collar with an 8 foot box you need to double what it says on the dial.hope that makes it a little bit clearer.

Magic! so if anyone has a mk1 terrier collar, then I shoulkd still be able to use it with my 8 ft mk 1 box. Anyone got one for sale?
