A quick question , I was talking to my father about the birds he used to keep years ago. And he told me he got a lot of he's birds of a game keeper from Norfolk or maybe it was Suffolk I can't remember, anyway he said he's name was Mr Baynes and he kept a strong line of old English game which he said Mr Baynes called old crow wing . And I was just wondering if anybody else knew this man or even had any original crow wings from him? Also this would be in the 1960s so it was a long while ago.

Walter baynes was one of the finest breeders and keepers of game birds of his time his favoured bird was the crow wing i know many men who bought birds from him and i have only heard good things about him. his strains are for the most part gone but i dare say some one might know different, i for one would pay handsomly for achance to own such a strain.

WALTER BAYNES

HE WAS GIFTED BIRDS FROM A GOOD BREEDER AND SOLD PLENTY OF ALREADY MADE STRAINS ON AFTER THE BREEDERS DEATH .

THE CROW WINGS HE HAD WERE A LINE MADE UP OF MANY FAMILYS INCLUDING AMERICAN LINES

A GOOD FRIEND IN CUMBRIA HAD THE BEST OF THE LINE AND MADE A FAMILY EQUAL TO ANY , WHICH WERE SADLY LOST DUE TO TRAVELLER SCUMS CONSTANT THEFTS ,

A LIFETIMES WORK GONE IN 3 YEARS OF THEFT ,............. AND THEY WONDER WHY THEY ARE TREAT LIKE LEPERS

Duckwing knows his stuff (more good info off the Internet he had been reading).

NO FELLA

JUST KNEW THE MAN AND HIS FAMILY OF FOWL FOR OVER 25 YRS .......... HE ONLY KEPT TWO LINES AND HAD THEM FOR OVER 40 YRS , IMPROVING BOTH OVER THE YEARS .......

AS OPPOSSED TO DAFT LADS LIKE YOU WHO CANNOT KEEP BIRDS TWO MINUTES WITHOUT SELLING ON TRYING TO FIND THE POT OF GOLD AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW

Thanks for the info lads. My father hasn't been well of late so its been up to me to feed his birds . And we've been talking about his game birds from years gone by. We didn't think there would be any of his line left .

Thanks again M .
