How old is the ferret in the pic? is he a young hob going through his first season as all my first season hobs have done the same over the years ive kept them. they seem to get realy dirty by rubbing themselves all over the quaters and sometimes this includes their dung corner. if your very brave stick your nose up close and ave a good sniff, this will tell you if its shite

Ive a hob at the moment who looks the same, like you say, nothing a good bath wont cure ;)

My boys look very simular in summer, with oily orange marks around their eyes and rear end, I have always put this down to the males musting and oils staining their fur in these areas. But the end of fall they usualy look clean again and put the winter pounds back on again.
