p3d 879 Posted January 17, 2012 Report Share Posted January 17, 2012 I think waterboard keys are used to open and close underground valves/stop cocks. They are usually made of carbon steel which will rust and the diameter tends to be on the light side. (10mm) The listening rods where a different tool that was used to locate leaks underground. They had a round cup which was placed near your ear and an extendable rod that was placed on the ground. You might get better results with a 16mm stainless rod 1000mm long and weld a "T" at one end.
