Guest long-tail
see from the news this morning they are changing the laws for animals coming into the uk,apparently from low risk countries it will be reduced to a 21 day period and from high risk countries its 3 month period.good for the owners but, government chief vet reckons there will be no more an increased chance of it getting into the country than with the current laws we have in place, last recorded here in quarantine was two pups in 2008 although hearing from owners of dog shelters, recue homes they all seem to think with the new laws in place rabies will be common here within 5/10 years if the law is changed, wondering if they might be thinking of the cost to them or if its based on hard evidence. what effect would rabies have to lads that work their dogs,is simply another vaccination for the dog or is there more to it than that

Kay 3,709
To be honest rabies or anything else is only an issue when animals arnt vaccinated , its probably why there arnt daily nationwide outbreaks being reported of things like distemper because immunization tends to offer '' herd immunity ''
