Old/ traditional methods and tricks

Been reading a book where the author used baked been tins with the ends cute out, jammed into a rat hole with stockings on to catch bolting rats.

 

Also seen a snare where the stick

Was bent and the rabbit triggered the stick to flick up and snare it...... Not sure what this was called.

 

These old tricks and methods intrigue me, I've heard loads but can't remember....... Sneaking up on burrown at night while the rabbits are out grazing and blocking the holes with stones. Scaring the rabbits into the back filled holes and putting your hand in to drag them out......

 

Anybody got any old methods, snares, netting tricks? Very fascinating pics would be great.

That pepper one that got write on here was one of the best i heard...

 

Just put some pepper (matters not if its white or black ) on a flat rock/stone type thing by the warren, And when the rabbit sniffs it, It will make him sneezes there for he'll kill him clean out by hitting the rock with his head as he sneezes cause of the pepper :laugh:
