trigger2 3,607
i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. i am thinking of changing my camera i dont own anything fancy at the moement its just a panasonic DMC-TZ65 with a lumix lense. its been a good little camera for what little photography i do, but i want to upgrade and get clearer better quality shots. i would ideally like a camera that takes good quality pics at a affordable price around the £300 mark give or take abit, and is as simple as possible to work. i will mostly be wanting to photograph my dogs running, and as much wildlife as possible. need a decent zoom for the deer around my area. it would also be good if i could take videos with it aswell. any help would be appreciated. thanks
jsmith 103
The camera you are using produces some top class images and would be hard to beat for £300. The lumix lense with x12 optical zoom gives you the focal lenght of a 300mm zoom, to beat that you really need to be in a dslr camera and only dslrs less then 3 or 4 yrs old will have video plus a 400 or 500 mm zoom is going to set you back quite a few quid.In my opinion there is good value in the secondhand dslr market but I'd say to get an older dslr body ,a 400 or 500 mm zoom lens, an 18-70 mm for everyday shots and a tripod you'd be knocking on the door of £1000.The more experienced photographers on here will be able to advise you a lot better then I will. Coyotehunter 689
Like JSmith says a used DSLR would be your best bet, you can pick up a Rebel 550 (2Ti) at a fairly sensible price, used between 275 and 450 if you don't mind buying from this side of the pond and have it shipped back Here is an example , http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1081104&highlight=550D This site is a really good site and an example of what can be found if you look around
