Hob breaking out

i went out to my ferrets this morning only to see my biggest hob half hanging out the front of the cage he maneged to rip/bite threw chicken wire to get out do you think this problem could be to the fact thier are 4 jills in heat below him how can this problem be solved.......?

I remember when i used to keep a ferret on my dads pen where he kept his racing pidgeons, in a cage with chicken wire. Needless to say it didnt take long for the ferret to break out, was missing for bout 3days, then my dad found it inisde his cabin, where it had pounced,pinned,killed and proceeded to eat the bird in the corner.

I suppose he was a little hungry :unsure::blink:

When i was younger all i could afford was chicken wire and the amount of time's i had to patch it up was no bodies buisness.. as a good size dog ferret will make short work of it..

You will be better of with the thicker gauge weld mesh that has allready been mentioned..

I have known small jills just shove there heads through that bigger chicken wire & then wriggle there bodys through it :o
