Guest Frank
Got to the bunny place just as day was breaking with my whippet pup and a ferret, to bolts some runners for her. No nets. Good start, the first 2 holer had a youngen bolt, she stuck and bang, in the bag. Then all hell broke loose, 2 foxes came in like bullets, to the sqeeling of the bunnys as my whippet caught it. , she spoted them and droped the bunny and ran like hell at them. Grabing one by its tail, i cringed, thinking she will soon know what she is dealing with and i was right. The fox turned and snaped, missing her by inches , lucky, but she barked at it like a mad thing. She came back rather ruffled and mad looking, so i gave her half hour to calm down. After all the excitment, i carried on and the bolts were coming on nicely, she missed a good few, that was fine, they were going from hole to hole. She coped on to this and took a big bunny, just as it bolted, right ionto her jaws. A good couple of hours mooching and rabbiting, great morning too, been dry for a while, badly needed, after all the shit wet weather. Cheers Frank. Edited April 9, 2007 by Frank Quote Link to post

gaz 284
Jesus frank that pup of yours is coming on leaps and bounds mate, everything seems to be coming together for you with her, shes going to be good un Its a good thing she backed off that fox as that could have knocked her back a bit, mabye next season ? I was out this morning myself with my own pup about the same age doing the same thing only with the nets, but he nailed some thumpers which slipped through the nets.Hes coming on well too but still a bit behind your pup, still a bit gangly in the legs yet To slip on bolted rabbits,aug-sept will be his time me think Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
Thanks gaz. By the sound of it yours will be a gooden too. What cross is he? Frank. Quote Link to post
gaz 284
The sire is a beddie x grey x whippet 23inch,dam is a deerhoundxwhippet about 25 inch so as you can guess hes still got a bit of knuckle left yet to grow out of,but hes steady enough about the ferrets and nets,he,ll stay on command and a good pup to be out with, but hes not finished in bone and muscle yet to be let loose on them bunnies yet Quote Link to post
