Stove Register Plate Needed?

Recommended Posts

Hi I want to fit a small stove within my existing cast iron fire insert.

I plan to fit a sweeping 90deg pipe to the back of it and attach that to a flexi steel liner going up to the chimney, then on to a cowl.

The problem I have is I am unable to install a register plate because I can not physicaly get into the chimney to fit one, due to the existing fire insert taking up most of the opening.

Would it in theory work with no problems other than some heat loss?

By the way I know all about needing to use a registered HETAS installer and I have a copy of Part J.

Thanks

Andy
