A early start -5 here in sunny oxfordshire the ground white and top layer hard.

Me and the old chap had been assigned to a area that many a ferreter had passed by due to the huge overgrowth brambles.

I am always amazed ho many ferreters baulk at the challanged we all want nice open buries in the middle of the field but most coneys are in cover :cray: .

So we beated in rough area first driven a few to ground, there was a few broken areas that I spun a couple of 25 yard hemp longnets though netted all the holes with purse nets that was easy to get to.

Pop the ferts in and for next hour we where chasing coneys around like a couple of crazed men driving the loose coneys into the nets as they kept bolting at swating in the brambles.

The first accounted for 10 and we carried on like this though the rough till at one stage we had 5 in the longnet 3 in purse nets .

One slipped the longnet run though the hedge only to be spooked back by a walker and come back the otherside of the longnet :boogy: .

Then we had a right nightmare where we lost ever rabbit from the bury slipped the nets dog etc.

But I watched them into a single holer so we picked up netted said hole.

One of our little jills in bang one hits the net.

Net back on two bolts at once and some how have two in the net at the same time.

I finnished that one holer with 7 in the bag amazing.

We finsshed with 42 and fair few got away . :icon_redface:

Cheers Cookie

The first picture just a few in the bag the second shows how bramble infested the area was.

The last picture is our bed cross who was with us but I forgot to take a snap off and picture was taken in dumfies on the solway .
