jwed 16
HI lads, My folks have a section of land at one end of their house where the percolation unit etc. is and it is fairly overgrown. They want to plant like a wildflower meadow over it and I was just wondering if it would be ok to put a couple of pigs on it to clear? Would this be dangerous for the animal or for the meat (given the proximity to the septic tank)? Also would the pig damage the vent pipe? Thanks.
bringthepain 39
Wouldn't goats be better?
jwed 16
Hi btp, they want the land turned over too. Also there are young beech trees planted around the edges and I think the goats would destroy the bark?

oldmantanner 4
Put it his way goats would destroy all the vegetation but leave the ground in tact but pigs would eat all the vegetation and churn up the ground for ya. So long as the animals cant get into the septic tank and that the vent is very strong, made from something like steel or concrete, then it should be no problem at all. Plus you get some lovely pork out of it at the end to
