ossetthunters 16
Pups coming along well at 15 weeks but last week he was in the wars...... First on Tuesday was out having a little mooch on some land near home where there is some quarry about just letting him sniff at the different sents and have a general play about in the fields. We'd had a great walk and i was impressed that he picked up a mixy'd rabbit that was virtually blind.... from behind a bush ( i hadn't even spotted it till he came running past with it in his mouth) anyway just heading back to the vehicle and all of a sudden he's stood quithering not coming to me when i call him and froze on the spot as i got closer to him i noticed what at first i thought to be flys but as i got even closer discovered they were not flies but indeed wasps!!! With at least five or six on him picked him up and got away from the NEST, pulling and flicking the wasps off him i realised they were now attacking both of us i had 2 stuck in my wooley hat, picked him up again and made my way to the bottom of the field, poor little fella was stiff now not moving or making a sound and had the back end of a wasp in his eye lid so after pulling it out i carried him back to the vehicle about half mile or so after speaking to a friend of mine thats kept dog alot longer than me he said keep an eye on him and see what he is like tomorrow he should be fine he's just in pain. He was jumping around every 10 - 15 mins and barking, biting his paws etc he'd obviously stood in the wasps nest thats why we were attacked. Well the next day came and he was more or less back to his old self ( after the quietest night ever ) his eye was still very swollen but after another day was fine. Then on friday...... introduced him to a friends dog for the second time and they seemed fine!?! the other dog is about 2 and wasn't as playful as the pup but they we thought were getting along ok..... Then about 35 mins his dog suddenly creapt up as mine was playing with the bottom corner of the door pinned him on his back and bit into him by at what first looked to be his back end and boll**ks the other dog was locked on the pups thigh and would not let go!!! So after a fair few digs to its head he finally let go. My pup definatly needed sticthes he had a gash about 2 inches long on the underneath of his thigh, the muscle was also slighly punctured... So he had his first nite over at the vets... Got him back saturday he was a bit sheepish at first but soon back to his old self.. Dont think it will effect him in the long run as even the vet said with him been younger they heal a lot quicker than the older dogs and if is not bothering him at all its just hard trying to stop him from playing around as much while the wound heals he's back to vets in 10 days for the outer stiches to be removed the inner ones are disolvable. He'll be fine nothing seems to phase this dog Just hope none of these knock his confidence too much??? Edited November 28, 2011 by ossetthunters Quote Link to post
