MK1 v's MK3

Recommended Posts

I've got both a MK1 and a MK3 and I have to say, I prefer the MK1! I just think the simplicity of it is nice, and it does everything you need. I also prefer the clicker on the MK1 to the bleep on the MK3. Just a shame the collars on the MK1 aren't waterproof. I'll mainly be using the MK1 I think and the MK3 when there's snow on the ground or if it's raining.

What do people think? Which do you prefer?

i prefere the mk1 any day, cant be doing with that bleeping from the mk3,

No same here, it kind of reminds me of when you're having a nice peaceful days fishing and some cock sets up next to you with a fookin loud bite alarm.......bleeping doesn't sound right in the countryside!

same here rob,i hate that too folk who dont turn alarms off when picking up rod or setting them

yeah what is that all about? on the odd occasion I'm using an alarm I'll turn it off when I cast in, tighten the line and set the drop indicator....and then switch it on. Why the hell do people leave the fukkin thing bleeping away why they're doing all that? I hate fishing when there's anyone else anywhere near me

going a bit off subject here but another thing that gets on my tits when fishing, when someone stands behind you to watch. I feel like reeling in and turning round to face them and just stare at them til they f**k off

or when you hook a decent fish and another nearby fisherman comes over and either watches, or worse still picks up your landing net as if they're doing you a favour (when you don't f'ckin need their help!!).

mk1 was good, but mk3 is better once you get used to it, the mk1 becomes the pain in the arse :victory:

I've used mk3s for the past three years and have only just tried the mk1, definitely prefer it. What don't you like about it?

its just unreliable matey, collars break if ferret even looks at water, struggle to get them fixed these days aswell, i also like the search feature on the mk3 saves you walking round or crawling round like a tit waving your arm  i have used both an i think i have just got used to mk3 now , makes my life a lot easier i hated having to crawl around under hawthorn hedges :icon_redface: but now i got a fair idea as to where the dig is gonna be before i even use locate :victory: hope that makes sense :icon_eek:

I must admit, it is a bit wierd that they've designed something to be used outside, in winter, by an animal that's crawling low to the ground and they didn't make it waterproof! very odd.

Does anyone know if there's any way of making it weather resistant? why's there a hole in the cap? is there any reason why you can't cover that hole up?
