Ideation 8,217
Tell Lee that i apologise matey! I was bloody impressed with Lala, she would have a place on my ferreting team any day! And at the start of the day you told me she might have a snap at the ferrets, and might not mark true. Running your wifes dog down like that . . . . just terrible Quote Link to post

Brimmer 220
Cheers everyone! Brimmer - the terrier is malc1's, and apparently has done very little ferreting, but you would NEVER believe that if you saw her work, pushing a long tight hedge rows, marking true, very respectful of ferrets, incredibly quick off the mark onto rabbits in the net, and by the end of the day i was chucking her up into the hedges on the banking and telling her to stay by holes we couldn't get to and she was covering them like a pro. Allthough the old feller would tell me you need a dog that can catch em as well, in my own experience, only a few select running dogs can be taken in all places. A good marking dog whether a terrier,or any old mongrel that has been brought up right are also worth there weight in gold. Injury is not something that puts you out of the game with a terrier, they would make do on three legs if they had to, fair enough you have to net everything up, but they never miss a season like a runner can. Just wish my old b'stard of a russel was as good covering the holes as he is marking them! Anyhow picked up the replacement for the old russel last week, hope this little bitch can live up to his workrate, he's getting a bit tired now. Will be posting the progress soon. They both had me out into darkness tonight trying to pull rabbits out of rockpiles in the dark! Quote Link to post
