Lessons learned

Well this season learned me a lot.............and what a steep curve it was :D

I learned not to give up on a dog with a bad injury and that some good lads are willing to help you out if they can......

I learned never to skimp on vet treatment.......

I learned that you may as well work your dog to the max, because even a run on the simplest of quarry could be career ending.......

But the best thing I learned was to just relax with and around my dogs, because that way I will be a better owner and get more out of my hounds.......

By god I am looking forward to next season :D

As this was my first season with my Lurcher I really did’en knows what to expect, from him or me.

I have never trained a lurcher before so this was a learning curve for me and dog. I now know that I have more of an understanding of how a dog thinks, also I think I am more relaxed since the dog came on the set.

I found that I have the skills that are required to train a lurcher to the standard where he won’t cause a nonsense when off the lead, he retrieves to hand, I think I have benefited from from his training also, I am now more in control of things around me, due to the long hours of training my lurcher I can now transfer this into my work day, I am now more understanding person, also I now how to over comeover issues without seeing red, and I believe this is all down to time spend with my lurcher.

So in a nut shell I really have become a better person since my Lurcher came on the scene.
