niall_b73 41
Big Grafham specimen kicks of trout reservoir predator season in style. As the big trout reservoirs open the doors to predator anglers, the first reported big pike of the season can be revealed by Total Coarse Fishing. Produced by Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire, the big fish was caught by local angler James Woodroff and tipped the scales at an impressive 33lb. The biggest fish of a stunning day’s fishing on the 1600acre venue that also saw the 42-year-old boat two 20lb plus fish and the 33 pounder by 11.30 in the morning, James tempted all the predators using lure tactics. “It was a typical trout water fish, very fat with a small head compared to its body, although it was actually quite a long fish,” said James. “I was fishing by myself on the day, luckily another boat was close enough to come over and take photos of the fish for me. I’m glad they were too as this is my first ever 30 and beats my previous best pike by six and a half pounds.” The lure that did the damage was an 8inch Fox Replicant, taken by the fish as it was bounced off the bottom in the area of one of Grafham’s large towers. niall_b73 Quote Link to post
